| How many people here have ever heard of the Star Wars MMO already in existence? Well the current version of the game is pretty much crap, the original version released at launch was extremely amazing. However early in the games history the people at SOE, the developer, messed the whole game up with a patch called the Combat Upgrade, or CU for short. However for the last couple years a small group of dedicated fans have been working on remaking the code from the original game!!! best of all its free!!!!! and not illegal! In order to play the game you must own the original disks, however you can also torrent the game online. EDIT heres your torrent link for all those that need it The SWGemu website has an installation walkthrough in the forum section of the site. You also have to make a username on the site and thats ur log in information once you begin playing the game. I think it would be a great idea if everyone got involved and began playing, if for no other reason than its extremly star warsy and fun for messing around, Rping ect.

| I have updated the original post with the torrent link.
As far as the patch, to be honest it just changed it slightly but was very controversial. The UI was updated, which wasn't bad, the problem was the players loved the game as it was and against their will (and mine) SOE changed it, losing many fans. Those that stayed and played the CU were forced to go through another devastating patch called NGE, or new game enhancements. This made the game almost identical to WoW and got rid of all the customization the original game had. Crafters enjoyed how in the original you had to work to become a great weaponsmith, even after you mastered. |

| As of right now the people working on it have not worked out all the code and it isn't a finished game, as such there is a few bugs and stuff they need to work out. A few professions haven't been fixed, as such you can't even play as those yet. When its finished though, I don't think it will be laggy or very buggy then, I think the people working on it are doing an amazing job. However completion is a ways off... |

| The game will be completed before christmas, so while it may be a bit incomplete and laggy now, I've been playing around with it so when it is finished I have become reacquainted with the controls and gameplay mechanics |

| I use a program called Bitcomet for all my torrent needs, you may want to try that phyrex. I just tried to torrent now and it brought up Bitcomet and started downloading so it works. _________________ The smuggler formerly known as Sirax.

| SWG emulator has been around for a while now. The server you join depends on how complete the game is. I haven't looked at any in a long while, so I'm not sure which one is best. I hope it works out for you all. Wish I had time to mess with it. |
